Jewelry Care
Sea Lustre jewelry is made to be worn often and cared for gently. To help preserve the life, luster and beauty of your pieces, please follow the care instructions below.
Pearl Care
Pearls are an organic gift from the sea and should be treated with care. They do not like perfume, hairspray, lotions, chlorine or harsh chemicals.
Pearls should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off.
To clean your pearl jewelry, gently wipe with a soft, damp cloth. If needed, use mild soap and water, then dry thoroughly with a clean cloth. Never soak pearls or place them in jewelry cleaners.
Metal Care
All Sea Lustre jewelry designs are made with sterling silver, yellow gold fill or yellow gold over sterling silver.
The best way to clean your metal pieces is with a soft polishing cloth. This will help remove tarnish and restore shine without damaging your jewelry.
Never submerge your jewelry, especially pearls, in silver cleaners or harsh chemical solutions.
Leather Restoration
Our cut-and-rolled leather is extremely durable, but it does need conditioning to stay soft and strong. Without moisture, leather can become dry, brittle and weak over time.
We recommend conditioning your leather regularly with Pure Shea Butter.
For best results:
Condition bracelets once a week
Condition necklaces and earrings once a month
Apply a small amount of shea butter to the leather and gently work it in with clean hands or a soft cloth. Let it absorb before wearing.
Storage
Pearls love to be worn. Regular wear helps replenish the natural moisture and oils they need to maintain their luster.
When not wearing your pearl jewelry, store each piece separately in a soft cloth pouch or wrap. Close it loosely so the pearls can still receive exposure to natural humidity.
Do not store pearls in an airtight container for long periods of time. Pearls contain trace amounts of water and can become brittle if they dry out, which may damage their luster.
Store all jewelry away from direct sunlight, heat, moisture and chemicals.
